The first car in Beaverton was owned by the Niggeman family. C. H. Niggeman was the bank president.

This may have been a lumbering camp in Beaverton.

Established in 1903, Beaverton was once called Three Forks, because of the three forks of the Tobacco River that meet in the City of Beaverton and now form Ross Lake, a 250-acre reservoir. Rich in lumbering history, Beaverton is now an established leader in the plastics industry with a weath of natural beauty and surrounding lakes, rivers, woods and streams.

In 1905 Beaverton was described as follows: "Population 800. At the confluence of the branch of the Tobacco and Cedar Rivers, 9 miles south of Gladwin. Has a waterworks, three churches, an opera house seating 600, a bank and weekly newspaper, "The Clarion." William Ross is Postmaster; C. J. Barnum, furniture store owner; C. H. Niggeman, bank president."
